Statement: I found this piece of driftwood and was fascinated with its purple hues. I wanted it to be visible from all sides and decided to turn it into a ring- unsure as to what kind of design, I placed it with my other works in progresses/material explorations. A few days later I went through my pieces and saw that a purple bead was next to a brass wire- I then played with different bending patterns to hold the bead. Once I had a rough direction, I took new wire, soldered it closed as a ring, allowed the rest of the wire to extend through the hole that was already in the driftwood, and bent it into this shape.
