Statement:
This piece was process-based, and an attempt to reconnect with and find appreciation for my physical self while struggling with an eating disorder. My hands are integral to my well being- as they permit me to complete daily tasks as well as turn my creativity into something tangible, which brings me a sense of happiness.
The entire necklace is composed of natural objects and chain links which relate to all parts of my hand through proportion, shapes, and textures, all in an order which starts at one end of my hand, and wraps around the entirety of my hand in a fluid and organic pattern.
Media: copper, wood, rocks, shells, mushroom, freshwater pearl, quartz bead
Dimensions: lengths of my hand
Date: December 2019
